Go Green With Hemp: Not Just About CDB Oils

Go Green With Hemp Logo

The goal of Go Green With Hemp is to promote all the products associated with hemp, not just the CBD Oils. There are way too many wonderful products that can be made to only focus on one.

These products are all environmentally safe, some are made for humans and animals to consume as food and medicine, while others are usable items and products. This plant is not just “another” go green alternative, it is “The Go To” green planet saver.

Industrial hemp is a renewable resource that is not being utilized like it should. From before 1776 until about 1940 it was grown and utilized in the United States. Hemp was brought with the settlers to grow for England, then after the War of Independence, the colonist continued to grow it for the United States.

In those days it was mandatory to grow hemp on every farm and you could pay your taxes with it as well. It was used to make all the ropes and sails on the battleships, as well as clothes, paper, lamp oil, medicine and more. Hemp was being used as it should be versus barely being utilized at all, like now.

Growing Industrial Hemp Is Easy

Hemp grows very fast just like a weed maybe faster than some of those too, its only like 120 days from seed to harvest. And it will grow practically anywhere. Requiring very little care if any when properly planted, just water it once in a while if it hasn’t rained, and pray for sunny days. It can be replanted in the same field repeatedly, as long as you add fertilizer once a year to replace any nutrients to the soil, any crop field would require this as well. Most crops you cannot grow consecutively as you can hemp.

As for when to harvest, I am sure that depends on what you are growing your hemp for. If you are growing for making fiber, you do not want your plants to flower, so you will harvest sooner. If you are growing for CBD Oils, you want to let your plants flower or if you are growing for seeds you will let your plants go to seed, you will wait the 120 days. Seeds come from the male plants and the females grow the flowers, so that is why it is the same amount of time for both, same plant type but a different sex.

You don’t have to use pesticides because not many bugs are really attracted to hemp. That’s a huge bonus in my opinion!!

The List of Products That Can Be Made Is Staggering

There are said to be well over 25,000 products that can be made from industrial hemp, all of which are biodegradable. I could list them all but I am not going to because that is just way too much for one article. I am going to mention a few at least.

It is hard to decide where to start, there are so many.

Health and beauty products of all sorts including lotions, soaps, shampoos & conditioners, and much more. House hold detergents can also be made from hemp.

Anything you can make from common fabrics that you find in stores like, cotton and rayon, you can make from hemp as well. Fabric made from hemp is softer and more durable than cotton as well. The fibers are strong enough to make carpets, rope, and sails as well.

By far the most shocking for me to find out is that plastics can be made from hemp fibers. Totally recyclable and biodegradable plastics, I think it ridiculous that we are not using industrial hemp, and this proves it.

Also, the car body made completely from hemp, that was pretty mind blowing. And it is said to be very resilient to weather and damage. Then there is the fact that bio diesel fuel and ethanol fuel can both be made from hemp to power your “hemp body” vehicle. Both are better than the alternatives, and better for the environment.

Don’t get me started on paper. Boy this one fires me up! Not only is hemp paper better quality than wood pulp paper, it has a better recycling ability as well. Most importantly no trees are involved in making it! Hemp regenerates at a much faster rate than trees and supplies 4 times the amount of paper than trees per acre. Any paper product can be made from hemp fibers from toilet tissue to cardboard boxes.

So many trees are cut every day that don’t need to be, we have lost irreplaceable much-needed echo systems around the world due to clear cutting projects.

What an atrocity!

The Medical Benefits Being Researched

Wow a medicine too! It is definitely being researched in many areas, as this plant has been found to be able to affect almost every biological event in the human body and possibly animals as well.

Studies are being done on a number of these events such as; anxiety disorders, epilepsy and seizure disorders, fears and phobias, pain and inflammation, chronic inflammation and autoimmune disease, and affects on many types of cancer.

That is profoundly amazing to me.

Environmentally Safe All The Way Around

So lets see, every single product is environmentally friendly in all ways. That means no matter how we utilize this plant we will not harm the planet in any way that has been mentioned.

This is possibly the safest and most usable “green” product on the market, and no one really cared to know much about it until recently. That’s a very bad secret to keep! This should have been shouted from the roof tops!

This is a huge injustice to the WORLD!

Industrial Hemp Is The Way To Go

Our fore-fathers were so right to make it mandatory to grow hemp. They knew back then that hemp was the way to go. Big money corporations won out over what was better for mankind and the planet.

However, it is not too late. We can stop clear cutting trees, and stop pumping crude oil from the ground and plant hemp nationwide, and in a fairly short amount of time, we would start seeing the benefits. I don’t think it would take very long. The planet needs time to heal from the mistakes allowed, and we need to give it a break!

With this plant being so very easy to grow and all the super wonderful environmentally friendly products that can be made from it, industrial hemp is the way to go in my opinion.

How this plant was allowed to lose its glorious reputation is beyond me!

I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject. Feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

The Four Strains of Cannabis

Hemp Crop

For many years I thought that “pot” was pot. I knew about hemp or what we called ditch weed back in the day; no one wanted it, not to smoke anyway. Well, it turns out that there are at least four strains of cannabis, who knew?

Well now I do and so do you.

There is the Sativa L., Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis. Each has it’s own physical characteristics and cannabinoid make up. They all have a slightly different effect on the human body when consumed or smoked.

I will go over each strain’s use, benefits, effects, and side effects in this article. I hope to give a better understanding of cannabis in general.

It is not the ugly demon drug it was labeled as for many years. This plant has potential medicinal values, industrial uses, textiles, health and beauty products, and more. Scientists are researching all aspects of each strain to see just what the potential is with cannabis.

As far as plants go, this plant in any strain is beneficial to mankind, at least that’s my opinion. There are just too many uses for it to be pushed to the side and labeled poorly.

Cannabis Sativa L.

Hemp Field, Cannabis Sativa L.

Cannabis Sativa L. or industrial hemp can reach heights of 20 ft., they have a long stem like stalk, and the leaves and very few branches are located more at the top of the plant. This strain has very little to no THC content, what this plant does have is CBD cannabinoids. So you can get the medical benefits without feeling “high” or intoxicated.

This is the medicinal cannabinoid that has been making news, there is no “high” or intoxication as a result of consuming this oil.

I am not a doctor or a scientist by any means so I will not be making medical claims of any kind relating to this oil or any other drug as far as that goes. I can suggest that you do your own research and come to your own conclusion if you like.

I do know that research is being done on all cannabis types to see what potential medical benefits could be linked to each one.

With this strain it’s not all about the CBD oil, there are so many uses for industrial hemp that it would make your head spin. I will name a few to give you an example.

Totally recyclable and biodegradable plastic can be made from it, paper (1 acre of hemp will create 4× the amount of paper compared to 1 acre of trees), textiles and fabrics that are more durable yet biodegrade when trashed, bio fuel that is superior to petroleum diesel or gasoline, and far safer to use and transport, paints, health and beauty products, and so much more.

It is said that there are over 25,000 uses for this strain of cannabis. That is simply amazing!

Cannabis Sativa

Marijuana Cannabis Sativa

This strain of cannabis grows taller and skinnier plants, the leaves are slender and long. Sativas are known for their more uplifting happy high. They are good for daytime use as they combine well with physical activities.

The medical benefits people claim from using the sativa strain are controlled mood swings, increased energy, help with nausea, increased concentration, stress relief, physical pain relief, and promotes creativity.

You can use this herb in two ways, you either smoke it or consume it. There are many products that you can choose from depending on your preference.

Cannabis Indica

Marijuana Cannabis Indica

Unlike the sativa strain, the indica plants grow shorter and bushier, the leaves are wider and thicker in comparison as well. The high from this strain is more physically sedating, and calming. This would be good for the evening after a long day and you just need to relax on the couch and get lost in a movie or fall asleep during it.

People that prefer the indica for medicinal reasons claim that it helps with a variety of ailments such as; anxiety, insomnia, physical pain, muscle spasms, nausea, headaches, and seizures.

Just the same as the sativa you can either smoke it or consume it depending on your preferred usage and there are just as many products to choose from.

Cannabis Ruderalis

Hemp Cannabis Ruderalis

The ruderalis strain is the least common of all, it is disputed between scientists whether it is a sativa subspecies or it’s own strain. It depends on the scientist that you talk to I guess. It is very low in THC just as industrial hemp and has higher amounts of the CBD cannabinoids as well.

Ruderalis strains are used to create hybrid auto-flower plants with the sativa and indica strains to produce a quicker flowering marijuana plants. This gives these two strains after cross-breeding, higher amounts of the CBD cannabinoids which turns them into a more powerful medicine.

I have not found too many other uses for this strain, but if it can create a more efficient medicinal plant, that very well could be the best use anyhow.

Personal Choice

While my site focuses on the CBD products, I am not against the medical and recreational use of marijuana.

I plan to be the one stop shop for all hemp products however, and I plan to push the use of hemp in all forms possible on my site.

We really need to think about our planet’s survival for our children and their children and so on and so forth. We need to make drastic changes and now.

Our landfills are continuing to fill with non-recyclable plastics and other crap that just won’t biodegrade, our air is polluted every day with harmful and poisonous toxins from the plastics sitting in the sun in the landfills, we pump petroleum based fuel in our vehicles that pump so many poisons and toxins in the air.

And then, as a slap to the planet’s face, we cut down trees at massive rates for paper and other senseless items. Trees that we need for ecosystems (rain forests GREAT example), cleaning our air, protecting us from the sun and wind.

Our fore fathers tried to set a good example by growing and utilizing hemp for all their needs that it filled. They even wrote the Declaration of Independence  and Constitution of The United States on hemp paper, probably by oil lamp light that was more than likely fueled by hemp oil.

They made it law that all farmers grew hemp, and made it possible to pay taxes with it as well. What more could they have done to proved that hemp was the way to go?

Which ever strain you choose to use, make sure you research it first. If it’s for medicinal reasons, make sure you speak with your physician first, never self diagnose or medicate for serious illnesses, mental or physical.

I would love to hear your view on this article. Was it informative and helpful in any way? Do You agree or disagree with anything I have mentioned? I love a good discussion and look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you as always.

If Hemp is So Wonderful, Why Isn’t It A Major Cash Crop?

Hemp Plants

Hemp and Marijuana have both been used since the dawn of time by several ancient civilizations to current day. It has been proven that hemp and marijuana have been used for over 10,000 years by many civilizations for many reasons.

Hemp was used for paper, clothes, sails, rope, lamp oil, and medicinal purposes. Whereas marijuana has been used for spiritual, and medicinal reasons.

Why would this plant, after so many years of use, become so degraded by the public? This just doesn’t make much sense.

What could possibly have changed everyone’s mind about a plant they knew was creating so many goods and medicine?

First Grown In The US For The Royal Crown

In the early 1600s England forced American farmers to grow hemp for the royal crown, it was nothing new to the farmers as they had been growing hemp for the Crown before the venture to the Americas.

Of course the settlers used the hemp as well for personal uses, as they needed clothing, lamp oils, rope, paper, medicine and other goods that were made from hemp as well.

Thus started the history of hemp in the United States.

Grown By Our Fore Fathers

After the War of Independence, hemp was continued to be farmed only for our own use on our battleships. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp, and it was hemp from Jefferson’s farm that the Declaration of Independence is written on. Yes you read that correctly, the Declaration of Independence was written on Hemp Paper, as well as The Constitution of The United States, ironic don’t you think?

In these days it was illegal NOT to grow hemp. Every farmer had hemp growing somewhere on his property by law. Hemp could be used in trade and to pay taxes, wouldn’t that be something if you could send the IRS some hemp for your taxes today.

Painting clip
Another Piece of the Painting

Farmers continued to grow industrial hemp for many years to follow. Henry Ford needed a fuel for his diesel engine that he invented and he knew it would require fuel made from either vegetables or hemp seed, so he created the first bio fuel with hemp seed. Which was soon replaced with a petroleum based product.

The Smear Campaign

So lets see we have farmers mass growing hemp by order of the law, for the production of many of our goods and inventors creating even more products from it. How could this come to an end? Competition is how!

The, soon to be big, oil companies, cotton growers and other synthetic fabric makers got together and decided that hemp was too much of a competitor that people had relied on for years.

So they made up this fantastic story that hemp and marijuana were the same thing, mind altering drugs that would threaten the safety of our young teens and society in a whole.

Propaganda movies were made about hemp and marijuana to scare the public and it worked apparently. A tax was put on hemp growers that made it not worthy of growing anymore. And that ended most of the hemp grown in the United States for many years.

Thomas Jefferson and George Washington probably flipped in their graves over this. Could you even imagine what they would have thought.

George Washington pretty much said it was the backbone of America and our country would thrive with its use. So I couldn’t imagine he would be very happy with this turn of changes.

Attempted Resurrection

During World War ll, the American government decided that we need hemp grown for the war. A new movie was made telling farmers that hemp was good again and it was their duty to grow it to support war efforts.

Influencing farmers with facts about hemp such as; you get 4× the amount of paper from one acre of hemp vs. one acre of trees, making fuel, and more goods that our troops needed.

The government was willing to pay the taxes and set farmers up with the machinery and everything they needed to grow and harvest.

Then the war ended and this left farmers with broken contracts and promises, and unpaid for equipment left on the farms.

Hemp went back to being taxed highly for growing and not many farmers were not interested, so it just died off again.

Where We Are Now

With the strong presence of hemp in history in general, one truly wonders how it got such a bad name. Well those smear campaigns were very strong and a lot of people believed it to be totally true.

Only one or two films were made that promoted it as being good and in need. And many that were intended to scare the public, had the biggest impact and stuck over the one or two good films.

When they lumped hemp with marijuana and labeled them both evil it took decades for that impact to grow out of our thinking. Now we are re-educating ourselves and seeing the error that was made.

Just think of how many trees would still be in existence if paper was made of hemp still. That alone should be enough to say Go Green With Hemp in my opinion. We lost acres upon acres of rain forests in the United States alone and began threatening our own echo system, and this all over people being afraid of competition.

I think it’s time we make a stand and say we want hemp products and we want them now! If we refused to buy paper made with wood pulp it would force paper companies to use ulterior materials, preferably hemp, and it would make an immediate huge impact on our environment.

Its time we take back control of our rights as people! We need to stand up for what is right and not be swayed.

This is not just about the right to smoke weed, or use CBD oils, this is our very existence at stake.

No I don’t think that hemp alone can save our planet, it will also take people to change their way of life a little here and there to help. I do think it’s a big step and one that never should have been such an issue.

I would love to hear what you think on this issue. Please feel free to leave a comment either in favor or against, there is nothing wrong with a good debate.

Thank you for taking the time to read my article.

Hemp Seed Oil vs. CBD Oil

Marijuana Bud Northern Lights

When people think about hemp oil and CBD they wonder if they are the same thing. The only thing they are similar in is genetics, they are from the same plant, just different parts. Aside from that, they are totally different. I will describe the differences and their uses.

Hemp seed oil is derived from the seeds only. Whereas the CDB oil is made from the actual flower and leaves of the plant.

The processing is different for extracting each oil, and so are the uses. They each have health benefits and come with warnings as well. Never use any supplement without researching and talking with your physician.

Hemp seed oil never contains CBD or THC as the cannabinoids do not reside in the seed, only the flower contains the cannabinoids.

The CBD oil does not contain high enough of the THC cannabinoid to cause alarm. Some companies are making it with absolutely no THC. You just have to read your labels and research the company you purchase from, if this is a concern you have.

How Hemp Seed Oil Is Made

Uncleaned Hemp Seeds

Hemp seed oil is made with cold compression. Before the seeds are ever compress they are washed extensively to remove any leaf matter, dirt, or other contaminants.

Then they do the pressing process, which is stretching the seeds and twisting like and twisting them like a cork screw action until all the oils come out.

During this process they don’t let the temperature get above 40 degrees. By the time fills into the first filter tank it has cooled more. In the end it is cooled to below 20 degrees and stored in an oxygen free environment. And that’s it, you have hemp seed oil.

This oil is rich in healthy plant fats and has a deep nutty flavor. If the press is cleaned and sterilized after each use the oil can also be considered virgin oil.

Hemp Oil

The Uses For Hemp Seed Oil

The uses for hemp seed oil are amazing! You can make some wonderful salad dressings and meal toppers with it. Body soaps, lotions, shampoos & conditioners, skin oils, and hair oils are all being made with this product. That’s not even close to be the end of the list.

Hemp seed oil can also be used to make paints, beauty products of all kinds, bio-fuel, and much more. The plant this oil derives from is just simply amazing with all that can be done with it.

The only things this oil should not be used for is frying or cooking above 160 degrees, stopping diarrhea, or raising blood pressure it will not be effective or helpful in these cases.

This oil contains a high amount of healthy plant fat that is very good for us, but we are not used to and it can give you tummy issues if you consume large amounts or on a regular basis. Everything comes with a warning label, hemp seed oil is not different.

Hemp Seed Oil on a Beet Salad

How CDB Oil Is Made

CBD oil has a totally different type of extraction process. All the leaves and flowers are used in the making of this oil.

First they are soaked in a grain alcohol then strained a bunch, and you are left with a slurry of cannabinoids and grain alcohol. Then ethanol is used to extract the oil, I am not real sure how this process is achieved.

At the end of the extraction the CBD oil can then be combined with any other oil that you would like it in pretty much, although hemp oil, olive oil, and butter are the main ones used.

Female Hemp Plant

The Uses For CBD Oil

The uses for CBD are pretty much medical, although there are no scientific claims that are backing up the popular opinion as yet, they are researching every day.

Popular opinion says that some use it for arthritis pain and other chronic pain, anxiety may be able to be relieved with its use. CBD oil has been in the news as a possible treatment option for epilepsy as well. Just remember to talk to your doctor before you take any herb or supplement.

Research is being done on possible effects on Alzheimer’s disease, MS (multiple sclerosis), Parkinson’s disease, and strokes. This product has not yet been approved for cancer treatment, but researchers a working very hard on results.

Anti-acne is also on the list for researching as CBD may also reduce overall inflammation in your body which could help acne in the long run.

This oil you can cook with up to 356 degrees Fahrenheit, it can be infused with hemp seed oil, olive and vegetable oils. You can bake with it, add it to milkshakes you can add it to just about anything you don’t mind the flavor in.

There are some side effects that are listed with CBD they include: dizziness, depression, low blood pressure, hallucinations, and withdrawal symptoms such as irritability and insomnia. Some people say they don’t notice any side effects, but then there are the few that it just really does not agree with.

The Doctor

It’s Really All About What You’re Looking For

When it comes to which oil is best for you it’s really a matter of personal needs. It’s a choice for you to make after you have done your research, spoke with your physician, and came to your own educated decision.

If you are looking to flavor up some foods and have healthy skin and hair, you should shop for hemp seed oil and products that are made with it. And if you want to feel like you have helped the plant and environment you can because hemp is a green product and most items that contain it, are also organic or all natural.

Soaking Up The Days End

If you are looking for some health benefits you should try the CBD oil after you have talked with your doctor and made and informed decision. It could be the best thing you have tried since ginger root for health benefits.

Don’t just jump on the CBD band wagon because others are. At the end of the day, do what is right for you that is what counts the most.

I would love to hear your opinion on this article. Please feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank as always.

What Benefits Come From Using CDB Oils and Other Hemp Products?

Oil Bottle and Dish

A lot of people want to know “what are the benefits from using hemp based products such as CBD oils and other products?”. Well that list is long, and all the answers pertain directly to personal benefit.

You benefit in many ways such as your health, this is becoming known as a “super food”, taking an all natural supplement your body doesn’t have to filter out any unwanted ingredients, helping the environment by using biodegradable products and saving trees, and you can find a variety of hemp-based products readily available.

This is a wonderful product and I wish more people would start utilizing all hemp-based products, the list is long and some of the uses may amaze you, I know it amazed me. Like, did you know that plastic can be made from hemp and its very biodegradable, talk about amazing!

I do want to stress that I do not make any claims that this product is going to increase your health, all opinions are just that, my personal beliefs and personal opinions. I cannot stress enough to research and consult with your physician before you decide to use ANY supplement.

Industrial Hemp Plant

Health Benefits

So we should get one thing perfectly clear, hemp does not contain a high amount of THC like its cousin cannabis. Rather it contains CBD which does not create the feeling of being “high” or intoxicated. It is a phytocannabinoid that has unlimited potential, its been discovered that it is beneficial to both human and animal health. Also it has the ability of affecting almost all biological processes in the human body and possibly animals as well.

That is huge!! I do encourage you to do your own research as well, Google offers a lot of information, then you can make your decisions in an educated fashion. And always consult your physician before taking any drug or supplement. Your health is your first priority after all.

Thick Woods Washington

All Natural

When buying your hemp products it is important as with any product to read your ingredients. I am sure there are some companies that are adding unnecessary ingredients to their products, but for the most part you will find that hemp-based products are all natural.

With as many products that contain additives this is comforting.

Helping The Environment

There are quite a few ways using hemp-based products can help the environment, biodegradable plastic is probably the biggest one I can think of, with all of the issues the current plastics we are using create.

We can save the amount of trees harvested every day for paper, and some construction materials as well. Items that are wood or made of wood products could be replaced with hemp products. Saving trees is definitely a huge part of helping the environment.

Making bio-fuel could help slow the big oil companies from drilling our natural resources away. I have always wondered what the long term effects are of removing the crude oil.

Obviously it is there for a reason, and I am pretty sure the reason wasn’t to be pumped out of the ground to leave voids and create gas pockets. Why not use a plant that can regenerate at a rapid pace instead?

Variety Of Uses and Products

There are so very many products that are derived from hemp and hemp seed, and these products all have beneficial uses, and are environmentally friendly.

To have such a variety of uses and benefits and to be so renewable makes this plant rank as a Super Hero to me.

The hemp seed oil does not contain the CBD values, but many products can be made from it, such as beauty products, lubricants, foods, paints, plastic and much more. These products are all biodegradable.

There are building materials that are said to be stronger than conventional materials and are more environmentally friendly. And they last longer.

We can make fabric to make clothes, bedding, draperies, etc…. They have even made a vinyl type product from hemp fibers that is stronger than the existing vinyl. Shoes, handbags, and jewelry accessories can also be created from hemp.

These products are sturdy and have a long life span. The clothing items are fashionable, not like old day hemp clothes that look like you got swallowed by tweed.

They can even construct car bodies from hemp. Jay Leno drove one onto his show one night.

And of course we don’t want to forget the famous CBD Oils that are sweeping the nation right now. There are many medical claims being made in conjunction with the use of this oil, so far no doctor or scientist have backed them.

With this product, I especially encourage you to research, not because it is illegal or a way to get “high” or intoxicated, because it is not either. It is because of the uses, you should research and speak with your physician before you use this product, this is for your own piece of mind.

Conclusion: You Will Feel Better All The Way Around Using Hemp Products

Happy Couple

With all of these benefits and uses its a wonder we have not utilized this plant sooner! Scientist are researching and making new discoveries every day.

Knowing that you are part of helping the planet and helping yourself should make you feel better, when you purchase a hemp-based product, no matter what it is.

Personally I think paper should be our target, we waste so many trees every day on making paper. That would impact our environment the most, and it could be immediate.

I think I have given you enough of a start here, after you do your  own research and you feel more knowledgeable and comfortable on this subject, I believe you will find it easier to  make your decision.

Some of the claims have not yet been scientifically founded, which is why I encourage you to do your own research on this subject.

The use of hemp oils and other products can impact your life in unsuspecting ways.

If we open our minds and stop classifying it as “bad” we will discover a whole new super plant that has been here all along. And you will feel better using it.

Feedback is always appreciated. I would love to hear what everyone thinks about this topic. Feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thank you as always.
